Before, when I resumed training on the glaciers in the summer, everything happened too quickly, and I struggled to react on skis. It was as if I had to retrain my brain to process complex information at high speeds. But now, I can maintain this level of visual acuity, and everything is much simpler. Once on skis, it’s as if I never left them.
It feels like everything is moving slower, and my eyes are no longer overwhelmed by the information they receive; it’s like we’re moving in slow motion.
Over time, it brings me an added capacity for concentration. I’m able to maintain my focus at a high level for much longer.
In elite sports today, it’s all about searching for the detail that will make the difference!
